My kowhaiwhai includes my mother,father and my two sisters (polly and kirsti) my mother is the patiki meaning welcome and hospitality. my father is the mangopare meaningthe hammerhead shark it also means strength and power. my sister kirsti is the koru meaning the unfolding or life ( i chose this becaues of her baby)and my other sister polly is the koiri it represents self-reflection the koiri shape may continue into infinity as each new koru turns back in to its self.
